- The concept of sustainable waste management and be able to develop a framework to create sustainable waste management strategies and plans.
- The waste hierarchy and how it can be used to help reduce the impacts of plastic waste pollution in Africa.
- The critical role the informal waste collection sector plays in developing a sustainable waste management system and how some countries have successfully included the informal waste sector.
- Cities that have successfully transitioned their waste management systems into sustainable, zero waste lifestyles.
